The period of heavy slowdown at the box office continued even during the weekend. While big budget films like ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ and ‘Maidan’ could not do well in their second weekend, Vidya Balan-Prateik Gandhi’s ‘Do Aur Dhokha’ along with ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’ released last Friday. ‘Do Pyaar’ has proved to be a disaster within three days. ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ has not been able to earn Rs 1 crore even on Sunday, despite putting in all its efforts. Made under the direction of Shirsha Guha Thakurta, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ is based on extra-marital affairs. Both Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi are accomplished actors. The film has also been praised, but it is flopping in terms of earnings. The situation is that despite Sunday being a holiday, about 95 out of 100 seats were seen vacant in the movie shows in theatres. Whereas the condition of ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’ made under the direction of Dibakar Banerjee is even worse. This film has already been released on very few screens, yet 92 out of 100 seats were seen vacant in the shows of the film.
‘Do Aur Do Pyar’ earned 95 lakhs on Sunday
According to the report of sacnilk, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar Ne’, made with a budget of Rs 40 crore, has collected a net collection of Rs 95 lakh on the third day on Sunday. This is the highest earning of the film in three days. Vidya Balan-Prateik Gandhi’s film had earned only Rs 55 lakh on the opening day, whereas on the second day on Saturday it did a business of Rs 85 lakh. The total net collection of ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ in the first weekend is Rs 2.35 crore. Whereas worldwide also it has done a gross business of around Rs 2.80 crore.
LSD2, made for Rs 20 crores, earned only Rs 65 lakhs in three days
On the other hand, Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’, made with a budget of Rs 20 crore, could not impress the audience even on the weekend. This bold film based on love and its side effects in the era of social media has been able to earn only Rs 65 lakh in the first weekend. On the third day on Sunday, this film has done a business of only Rs 40 lakh. Whereas a day earlier on Saturday it had earned Rs 10 lakh and on the opening day it had earned Rs 15 lakh.
Box Office: ‘Crew’ created a stir at the box office on the 24th day, ‘Satan’, who was counting his last breaths, also took a jump.
Box Office Collection: Ajay Devgan’s ‘Maidan’ beats ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’, both are disappointing
‘Ruslaan’ and ‘Tehran’ will be released on April 26.
Obviously, both these films have proved to be disasters at the box office in their first weekend itself. There is not much hope from them, because now with the start of working days on Monday, the period of decline in the earnings of both will start. This period of sluggishness at the box office is going to last for a long time because Ayush Sharma’s ‘Ruslaan’ and John Abraham’s ‘Tehran’ are releasing next Friday, 26th April. There is not much discussion in the market regarding these two.
