17 days have passed since the release of Randeep Hooda’s first directorial film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ and Kunal Khemu’s first directorial film ‘Madgaon Express’. This is the first time since last Sunday that both the films have earned above crores. Both the films have made excellent collections on Sunday.
If we talk about these two films released together, Kunal Khemu’s film has gone ahead in terms of earnings. The story of the film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ is a biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, which contains glimpses of his fight against the atrocities of the British. Randeep was so immersed in the character of this film that he lost a lot of weight to look real. He had told in his interview that there came a time when he started living only on water and coffee and did extreme dieting.

Whereas Kunal Khemu’s ‘Madgaon Express’ is the story of three friends who dream of going to Goa since childhood and when they go, something happens to them which they had never even dreamed of. All three get trapped in a problem from which getting out is a very difficult task.
‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ earned huge sum on Sunday
According to the report of Sacnilk, Randeep’s film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ has earned a lot on Sunday. While the film earned Rs 1.1 crore on Saturday i.e. the 16th day, it collected Rs 1.25 crore on Sunday. Overall the film earned Rs 20.6 crores and has collected Rs 27.30 crores worldwide. The film has so far collected Rs 2.75 crore in foreign countries.
‘Margaon Express’ went faster in the race
Kunal Khemu’s ‘Madgaon Express’ has once again gone ahead in the race on Sunday. While the film had earned Rs 1.2 crore on the 16th day, it collected Rs 1.35 crore on the 17th day i.e. Sunday. Overall the film has earned Rs 22.4 crores. Worldwide it has earned Rs 29.85 crores, while in foreign countries it has collected Rs 3.25 crores.
