Boy (13) smokes vape with fentanyl at school: ‘He will never be the same’ | Abroad

by time news

The boy from the US state of Georgia was in a coma for two weeks after inhaling the fentanyl-filled vape. Fentanyl is a very strong pain reliever; in case of an overdose, users can die quickly. The sleeve of the vape only had the popular flavor ‘blueberry/raspberry’ on it.

Zach Corona eventually woke up after a massive stroke, but “his life will never be the same again,” said his mother Lynda Amos. Images in the hospital of the badly damaged Zach on the equipment and in a wheelchair do not lie. It was his 12-year-old sister who found the boy knocked out at home on January 1, the vape still in his underpants. At first she thought Zach was playing a prank because he wouldn’t respond. Not much later, his mother called the emergency services and he was rushed to hospital, where he had to be resuscitated.

The Georgia Police Department has been investigating for several months, which involves minors. According to The New York Post, a report confirms the family’s shocking story. A police spokesman was unable to comment further on the matter. At school, Zach would have been given the vape by other students and pressured, or at least encouraged, to smoke it.
