He noted that this decision was made long ago. According to Boyakov, the charter of the theater was changed in the spring, and this was a prelude.
At the same time, Vladimir Kekhman in a personal conversation promised Boyakov that he would do everything possible to make him stay. But after five days, he asked Boyakov to resign. At the same time, he referred to the demand of Tatyana Doronina and “other forces”. They say that Doronina will not come to the theater if Boyakov does not quit. He admitted that he was faced with a choice.
After a conversation with Kekhman, Boyakov was escorted to the exit by a security officer. Boyakov managed to instruct his assistant to remove the icons and left.
At the same time, Boyakov assures that he did not have a conflict with Doronina. “I did everything to ensure that she returned to the theater. When she was fired, she still didn’t put up with it, ”he said.
Recall that Boyakov headed the Gorky Moscow Art Theater in 2019. In October this year, Vladimir Kekhman, the head of the St. Petersburg Mikhailovsky Theater, was approved by the head of the Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova as the director general of the theater.
