BPIP Main Secretary Tonny Agung Arifianto emphasized the significance of the flag as a ⁤symbol of the state and the nation’s identity.

“This flag is a symbol of the state, this flag is the identity of the nation⁣ and we continue to guard it properly for the sake ‌of the ⁢integrity of the nation⁤ and state of the Republic of Indonesia,” Tonny said.

He also requested that district and city governments immediately re-submit the‌ application for the duplicate flag. In⁤ case the original heirloom flag becomes damaged or unfit for flying within a 10-year period, the central government, regional governments, and other institutions can request a replacement from BPIP.

Tonny explained that the duplicate flag has been‍ flown during independence ceremonies for over 55 years by various government agencies.

The⁤ duplicate flag is now being used as a replacement for⁢ the original heirloom flag, which is ‍no longer suitable for flying.
