jpnn.comJAKARTA – BPJS Ketenagakerjaan handed over compensation totaling Rp 939.3 million to Glen Malcolm Conning’s heirs.

Glen Malcolm Conning, a man from New Zealand who was a helicopter pilot belonging to PT Intan Angkasa Air Service who died in Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, was the victim of a shooting by an unknown party.

In the incident that occurred last Monday (5/8), Glen Malcolm Conning was on duty delivering medical personnel and medicines belonging to the Health Service to an area in the Alama District.

BPJS Employment Service Director Roswita Nilakurnia said that after hearing about the incident, her party sent a Rapid Response Service (LCT) team to coordinate to ensure the victim’s membership status.

As a result, it was discovered that the victim had been registered as a BPJS Employment participant since April 2024.

To provide moral support as well as a form of responsibility to the participant’s family, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Service Director Roswita Nilakurnia symbolically handed over compensation totaling Rp939.3 million to the heirs represented by PT Intan Angkasa Air Service Operations Director Andriana Mahmud.

These benefits consist of work accident insurance (JKK death), funeral costs, and the entire balance of Old Age Security (JHT) owned by the participant.

In her speech, Roswita expressed her deep sorrow for the disaster that occurred.
