Revision of the constitution: Br deputies unanimously behind Assan Séibou’s proposal

Through a letter dated January 26, 2024, He AssanSeibou, president of the Bloc Républicain parliamentary group, submitted a proposal to revise law n°2019-40 of November 7, 2019 revising law n°90-32 of December 11, 1990 establishing the Constitution of the Republic of Benin. This approach no longer bears the name of Assan Seibou but rather of the entire Bloc Républicain party. At the end of their meeting last Wednesday at their headquarters, the deputies of the Br parliamentary group decided not to hear any more about Assan Seibou’s proposal. They unanimously affirmed that they are behind the proposal of the president of their parliamentary group. From now on, the entire party supports this proposed law which no longer has any nominal authorship. It is therefore now the Br who initiated this bill.
