The musical notes come from where you least expect them: they glide on the Arno aboard the renaioli boats, chase each other on the rooftops of Florence, play hide and seek in the rooms of ancient buildings, race aboard historic cars for Chianti. It happens during the XXII Italian Brass Week, the international brass festival, which from 1 to 8 August brings together young talents and masters from all over the world in Florence under the artistic direction of maestro Luca Benucci. The title of the 2021 edition, From the Brass Convivium to the Banquet of Knowledge a tribute to Dante Alighieri: it recalls the two Dante pillars attributed to the human soul, Strength and Love, which are also the foundations of universal knowledge and knowledge and find the fulfillment of music: hence the invitation to a musical banquet .

At the Bargello Museum (3 and 4 August) the soloists, accompanied by the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, directed by Maestro Giuseppe Lanzetta, will give life to real musical portraits that join the celebrations of the oldest portrait of Dante known today, which is located in the Chapel of the Magdalene in the Palazzo del Bargello. An absolute world premiere is scheduled for August 5th, at Palazzo Gondi: Born from leaves and frost. Moss. Wind of the Woods – from Canto I of Hell for soprano and brass ensemble by Arnaldo De Felice (with texts by Francesca Andreini) a tribute to the incipit of the Comedy: the musical instruments will dialogue with the voice of Sabina von Walther. The day after the music will go up on the Rooftop of the Hotel Glance with a jazz concert, while on 7 August the musicians, at sunset, will board the boats of the Florentine Renaioli, reaching Ponte Vecchio and the Societ Canottieri. On 8 August at 8.30 the musicians will leave Florence aboard vintage cars to travel the Chianti region (with stops in Impruneta and Greve) for a tour with concerts, fashion shows, tastings.
