Brazil> The Supreme Court allowed the investigation against the former President Bolsonaro in the case of attempted coup through riots in Brazil. The Supreme Court order accepted the government’s argument that Bolsonaro was behind the riots. Judge Alexandre de Moraes said that the conspiracy against the democratic system is being taken seriously.
Two days after the riots, Bolsonaro posted on social media accusing him of subverting the presidential election. Earlier, the court rejected the petition filed by Bolsonaro questioning the election verdict with a fine. Bolsonaro alleged that Lula was selected by the Supreme Court and the Election Authority and not by voting. Bolsonaro, who went to the United States after the results, was not ready for a change of government.
Bolsonaro returned to the United States in late December without attending the handover ceremony to Lula.
Thousands of far-right Bolsonaro supporters attacked the Brazilian Congress, the Supreme Court and the presidential palace on January 8.
