jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Brazilian National Team will face Uruguay in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa America.

Brazil winger Raphinha says his team are not afraid of facing Uruguay, following the Samba team’s poor results in their three group stage matches.

“Our team continues to improve with every game and every training session and we feel on the right track,” Raphinha was quoted as saying by AFP.

“Unfortunately, this result is not what we wanted, and we did not manage to qualify as group winners. However, whoever wants to be champions should not worry about who they will face in the next round. We must be ready to face anyone,” added Raphinha.

Brazil had to be content with a 1-1 draw against Colombia in their final group match at Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California, Wednesday (3/7).

Although Raphinha managed to score the opening goal through a free kick in the 12th minute, Colombia were able to equalize through Daniel Munoz’s goal in first-half stoppage time.

This draw leaves Brazil in second place in Group D with five points.

Brazil are below Colombia who won the group with seven points.
