Brazil suffers a draw against Ecuador in the debut of the South American sub-17

The pursuit of Brazilian Team for its 14th sub-17 South American Championship title started this Thursday, with a 2-2 draw against Ecuador. At the Christian Benítez Stadium, in Guayaquil, the Brazilians took the lead with two goals from Kauã, but were conceded twice in four minutes in the final stretch of the match.

The next match of the Brazilian team will be on Saturday, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), against Chile. Ecuador will also return to the field on Saturday, at 21:00, to face the Colombia.

The goals of the game

The Selection opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the opening stage. The Brazilians pressed the ball out of Ecuador and managed to deflect a shot from the defenders. Kauã was nearby and fought for her in an attempt to dominate the opponent. With a cross kick, the attacker scored the first of the game.

The number 9 shirt was also responsible for increasing Brazil’s advantage. Defender Vitor Reis fought for possession on the right of the penalty area and managed to cross from the bottom line. At 35 minutes, Kauã, free of marking inside the area, finished first, in the right corner of the Ecuadorian goal.

Ecuador grew in the final stretch of the match and, in the 43rd minute of the second half, scored their first goal of the game, with Jairo Castillo. A short time later, at 46 minutes, Geremy de Jesús invaded the area and took it from the Brazilian goalkeeper to make it 2-2.
