jpnn.com – PARIS – The women’s volleyball event at the 2024 Paris Olympics has completed the group stage.

Eight countries have secured their place in the quarter-finals, consisting of three group winners, three runners-up and the two best third-placed teams.

The determination of the first seed (who gets the quota to face the 8th seed) in the quarter-finals must be decided until matchday 3.

Brazil became the best of the best in the group stage, after crushing Poland 3-0 (25-21, 38-36, 25-14) in the final match of Pool B at the South Paris Arena, Monday (5/8) early morning WIB.

Gabi Guimaraes and friends performed well, including in the second set which had to be solved with many times of juice, until Brazil won 38-36.

Brazil’s captain Gabi was the top scorer in the match, with 21 points. Meanwhile, from Poland, team star Magdalena Stysiak was the highest scorer for her team, with 13 points.

“We are happy with what we showed in the game, but we know that we haven’t won anything here. We played well in the VNL recently, but we weren’t champions. That’s a lesson. In sports it can happen,” said Brazilian middle blocker Ana Carol da Silva.

As the top seed in the last 8, Brazil will face the 8th ranked Dominican Republic.

All quarter-final matches of the women’s volleyball at the 2024 Paris Olympics are worthy of being labeled big matches.
