Actress Jandira Martini could not resist lung cancer. Her career includes performances in several soap operas, but also in plays. Her last appearance dates back to 2022, in the film “A Pinch of Luck”.

The information was confirmed by friend and actor Marcos Caruso, reveals O Globo, this Tuesday and shared on social media.

“You know when you pass by the school where you studied and see that the building has been demolished? That’s how I feel about your departure”, reads Caruso’s publication.

Jandira was born in Santos (São Paulo) and began her career on television in 1966, at the age of 21. I studied Literature at the Catholic University of Santos and later graduated in theatrical interpretation at the School of Dramatic Art, also in São Paulo.

She gained recognition in Globo soap operas, most notably “Sassaricando”, where she played the cruel and rich Teodora Abdala, in 1987. She also appeared in “O Clone”, “Salve Jorge” and “Éramos Seis”.

He also made a contribution to Brazilian theater. He founded the Royal Bexiga’s Company group, where he worked for several years with Marcos Caruso. Together they wrote the play “Porca Miséria” and with it won the Shell Theater Prize in 1993, and jointly produced the script for the film “Trair e Coçar é Só Começar”, based on Caruso’s play.
