Leading private companies from Brazil, as part of the delegation of the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI), will hold talks with the management of the Baku International Sea Trade Port (BISTP), which has a “Green Port” certificate from the UN Maritime Organization, in November 2024 within the framework of COP29.

This agreement was reached on July 9 during the visit of the CNI delegation to the Baltic Sea Commercial Port, Day.Az reported on Tuesday, citing the port.

“Today’s discussions focused on the port’s green projects, the implementation of the Middle Corridor and its key role in global transport connectivity. CNI expressed its willingness to exchange knowledge and ideas with BMSTP experts on Green Port status, sustainable development, ESG, as well as carbon accounting and carbon footprint reduction solutions,” the port said.

The Brazilian delegation was also interested in plans to expand capacity, and it was decided to discuss these issues and prospects for cooperation in November within the framework of COP29.

It should be noted that CNI is the largest Brazilian business platform, representing the interests of more than 200,000 enterprises in the country.

Let us recall that COP30 will be held in 2025 in Brazil.
