The juxtaposition of the sacred and the profane is nothing new in the criminal sphere, especially in the mafia, but until now cocaine marked with the Christian image representing the ‘sacred heart of Jesus’ had never been seized in Naples: the effigy, together with the Apple logo and the inscription ‘Qorr’ was found on twenty packages containing a total of 22 kilograms of cocaine found in the trunk of a van by the Guardia di Finanza of Naples.
The drugs would have brought the criminals an illicit profit estimated at around three million euros.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by the financial police of the Torre Annunziata Group (coordinated by Colonel Gennaro Pino) engaged in checks on the access roads to the Campania capital: he is now accused of trafficking and illegal possession of narcotics. His driving behavior attracted the attention of the military. Along with the drugs, the van and the driver’s cell phones were also seized.
