This potential breakthrough is significant as mRNA vaccines could have a decisive advantage in cancer treatment. The immune system could be stimulated to target only the cancer, unlike traditional methods like radiation or chemotherapy, which can impact the entire body.
According to the German Cancer Society, more than half of all people affected by cancer are still alive five years after diagnosis.
