The Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, renewed “his country’s support for efforts aimed at promoting peace and integration throughout Libya as part of the United States’ strategy to prevent conflict and promote stability.”
During his meeting with Libyan officials and experts committed to empowerment and social inclusion to discuss “enhancing the role of women in the peacebuilding process,” the US diplomat “expressed his thanks to the representatives of the Presidential Council and municipalities, as well as academics and civil society activists.”
“Women and youth have a fundamental role to play in building a future in Libya based on the rule of law and respect for the dignity of every individual,” Brent said.
