Arrested on Mayor Of Berzo Demo (Brescia) and the service manager of the technical maintenance sector and property of the same municipality: the crimes of which the accused are accused are disturbed freedom of enchantments – or a conduct aimed at winning a tender in an irregular way – e disturbed freedom of the procedure for choosing the contractor. The arrest took place following a precautionary measure issued by the judge for the preliminary investigations of Court of Bresciawhich was carried out by the Carabinieri of Breno.
From this morning, therefore, the suspects are at the House arrest. The investigation into the case began a year ago, in February 2021and it had ended in June: the agents had investigated 5 people (in a state of freedom), which they believed to be responsible for the handling of operations related to public procurement managed by the municipality of Berzo Demo.
The carabinieri conducted the investigation through telephone and environmental wiretapping and with the analysis of administrative documents: the documents allowed the police to notice and, at a later time, to ascertain alleged irregularities in the management of tenders and in the assignment of works for the supply of building materialsof the cleaning services of municipal buildings, as well as the assignment of video surveillance services.
The first procedure to be analyzed by the investigators concerned the supply of building materials for the municipality of Berzo Demo: in fact, asingle firmwho had been entrusted with the task, despite the building materials in question would then have been provided to the municipality by thefamily business the Mayorof which the mayor of Berzo Demo is a partner for the 45%. Other irregularities of this kind were reported for other supply services relating to the years 2018–2019 e 2020–2022.
