Representatives of the Brest region as part of the Belarusian delegation are participating in the events of the International Business Week 2023 in Bashkortostan, First Deputy Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Brest Regional Executive Committee – Head of the Department of Industry and Innovation Activity Alexander Pradun told a BELTA correspondent.
On November 22, an agreement was signed between the Brest region and the Ufa region to establish friendly relations. The parties agreed to maintain and strengthen trade and economic ties, cooperate in the scientific and technical sphere, education, culture and sports. The districts intend to work together to attract investment and develop entrepreneurship. Particular attention in the agreement is paid to strengthening friendly relations between children’s and youth organizations of the Belarusian and Russian regions. Brest and Ufa districts aim to organize mutual visits of youth representatives.
“As part of the business week, there will be a presentation of the Brest region and its investment attractiveness. We will talk about supporting the economy at the regional level in the context of sanctions, what tools we use to stimulate business, and what industries we prioritize. We will discuss the prospects for further cooperation with enterprises of Bashkortostan. In particular, the First Battery Company is involved here. The possibility of creating a joint production is being discussed,” said Alexander Pradun.
Belarusian and Russian partners are looking for options for building cooperation chains as part of the implementation of import-substituting innovation projects to create new products and technologies.
In addition to economic cooperation, the parties are interested in developing interaction in the social sphere, including in the fields of culture, tourism, and youth policy. The experience of the Brest region in patriotic education of the younger generation is valuable for Bashkortostan.
