Bribery: Judge arrested by anti-corruption committee

Jeddah: The incident took place in Saudi Arabia when a judge was arrested for taking bribe. The judge was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission. The Saudi Anti-Corruption Commission said the judge was arrested by a commercial court. The judge paid a bribe of 3 lakh riyals.

Meanwhile, three officers of the Criminal Investigation Department have been arrested for seizing 4.9 million riyals from foreigners and extorting money from them. Foreigners involved in the case were also arrested for failing to show the source of the money.

An employee of the anti-narcotics unit who demanded bribes was also arrested during an investigation led by the Anti-Corruption Commission. Instead of hiding the money laundering case of a Saudi citizen, an officer from the Anti-Narcotics Unit took a bribe.
