Fans already have a glimpse of what’s to come in future seasons of the popular series, thanks to a clever reveal at a recent premiere.
- Showrunner Jess Brownell hinted at the leads for Seasons 5 and 6 through her outfit at the Season 4 premiere in Paris.
- The characters in focus will be Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie, and Francesca Bridgerton, portrayed by Hannah Dodd.
- Season 4, split into two parts, premieres on Netflix January 29, with the second part following on February 26.
- The upcoming season will center on Benedict bridgerton’s romance with Sophie Baek.
As “Bridgerton” devotees eagerly await the arrival of Season 4 after a nearly two-year hiatus, details about future installments are already emerging. At the Season 4 red carpet premiere, held in Paris, France, on January 14, showrunner jess Brownell subtly unveiled the leads for Seasons 5 and 6.
Brownell’s message was sartorial: she sported a mauve suit adorned with white pocket squares embroidered with an “E” and an “F”-hints at the future focus of the show.
“I would say both characters with the initials on my pocket squares will get seasons in 5 and 6,” Brownell told Deadline on the red carpet.
For those keeping track, the Bridgerton siblings are famously named in alphabetical order. This means the “E” signifies Eloise, played by Claudia Jessie, and the “F” represents Francesca, portrayed by Hannah Dodd.
However, Brownell added a playful twist: “In what order? I can’t say,” leaving fans to speculate which character will take center stage in Season 5 versus season 6.
The reveal comes just weeks before the premiere of Season 4, which will be released in two parts. The first part arrives on Netflix January 29, with the second following on february 26. This season will follow Benedict bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and his blossoming love story with newcomer Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha.
The trailer for Season 4 depicts Benedict and Sophie’s enchanting first encounter at a masquerade ball, where they spend a magical night dancing. but as the clock strikes, Sophie mysteriously vanishes, leaving behind only a glove as a clue to her identity.
The new season appears to draw inspiration from the classic “Cinderella” tale, as Benedict embarks on a quest to uncover the owner of the lost glove.
The trailer also offers glimpses of Eloise and Francesca. Last season, Francesca married John Stirling (Victor Alli), but a palpable connection sparked between her and John’s cousin, Michaela (Masali Baduza), from their first meeting.Season 3 concluded with Francesca, John, and michaela traveling to his estate in Scotland, with Eloise joining them.
Eloise’s romantic journey has been relatively quiet as Season 2,where she briefly explored a connection with a printing shop worker named Theo Sharpe (Calam Lynch). However, the character has not appeared in recent seasons.
As for the broader cast expected in Season 4, confirmation has come that Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton, Simone Ashley’s Kate Bridgerton, Adjoa Andoh’s Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell’s Violet Bridgerton, Golda Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte, Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope Bridgerton, Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton, and other beloved characters will be featured in the new season.
