Faihan Al-Sahli, brother of Brigadier General Salem Al-Sahli, revealed the details of his brother’s death by drowning in the sea of Half Moon Beach in the Eastern Province, while trying to save his young son.
Fayhan said during his interview on the “Ya Hala” program: “His brother went out with his family on the extended vacation at the end of the week, and he rescued his young son who drowned in the sea, but he drowned before he could reach the beach.
He explained that the tourists on the sea helped get his brother out of the water in less than 3 minutes, but he died after being taken to the hospital.
He added: “The little boy was swimming next to his father, but he moved away until he drowned in the water, and when his father saved him and made sure that he was standing on his feet, he asked him to move away and the child responded to him,” pointing out that his father drowned before moving away from the drowning area.
Fayhan stated that the child came out of the coast in good health, and concluded: “We count my brother among the martyrs, because he died by drowning and after he revived himself, and praise be to God for the evidence of a good ending.
He sacrificed his life to save his son from drowning.
