The reception was attended by prominent Czech figures from the political, cultural, academic and artistic worlds, in addition to representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Prague, academics, representatives of the three monotheistic religions, journalists and members of the Moroccan community established in the Czech Republic.
Among the dignitaries who graced the reception with their presence were former President Václav Klaus, former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, First Deputy Minister of Defence František Šulc, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Edvard Kožušník and First Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Jan Bartošek.
In a speech on this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hanane Saadi, highlighted the symbolism of the Throne Day as well as the Moroccan people’s attachment to this event, which constitutes an opportunity to renew the alliance with the monarchy, through the oath of allegiance and express the mutual commitment of HM the King and the Moroccan people to meet challenges and overcome obstacles.
Ms. Saadi also highlighted the main achievements of the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, particularly in the social field, through the completion of mechanisms linked to the implementation of the project to generalize social protection before the end of this year, which His Majesty launched in 2021.
Regarding projects in the economic field, the diplomat noted that Morocco has a climate conducive to investments, inviting businessmen in the Czech Republic to explore its assets and follow the example of their counterparts from different countries, with an emphasis on renewable energies, in particular green hydrogen in the southern provinces.
Ms. Saadi also highlighted the latest developments in the national cause, mainly those related to the continued support for the autonomy proposal presented by the Kingdom, by countries such as Spain, Germany and Austria, as well as the recognition by the United States of America and Israel of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.
The diplomat also mentioned the successive opening of consular representations in the cities of Dakhla and Laayoune, as well as the desire of several countries to move in this direction.
Furthermore, Ms. Saadi highlighted bilateral relations and their growth in recent years, particularly in terms of trade, exchange of high-level visits and participation in cultural events.
Mrs. Saadi did not fail to praise the role played by the Moroccan community residing in the Czech Republic, in order to develop human relations between the two countries and to make Morocco and its traditions known, referring to the content of the speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the Throne Day.
In a speech on behalf of the Czech government, Mr. Kožušník praised the exceptional relations between his country and Morocco, noting that the Kingdom is the only partner marked by stability and sustained growth in North Africa.
The official also expressed his country’s intention to move forward towards deepening the partnership and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
In statements to the local press, Czech officials present at the event expressed their warm congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day.
