The chemical and paint business holding Briolf Group has bought 100% of the company INTEC srl., the third purchase of the Girona group in the last 18 months. In November, Briolf took control of the aerosol manufacturer Areco Italia, before, in February 2022, it closed the acquisition of the also Italian IMPACAR.

INTEC is a family company with more than 50 years of history located in the province of Reggio Emilia. It is a reference in the sector of paints for automotive repainting and has developed a line of putties, pastes and adhesives focused on the sector of composite materials (composites). These products have multiple industrial applications in technological and demanding markets such as the design and construction of ships or wind turbines in the wind energy sector, according to details from the Girona holding company.
With the incorporation of INTEC into Briolf, the group from Girona includes a company with nearly 40 people and a turnover of almost 13 million euros in 2022. According to the company, “this acquisition aligns perfectly with the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, which allows us to continue increasing our degree of diversification while strengthening our current lines of business.” And they emphasize that “In this case, we do it by adding a completely new technology and sector within the group while expanding our value proposition within the market with a brand and clientele complementary to Roberlo’s business”.
Briolf Group closed 2022 with growth close to 25% and achieved a turnover of more than 190 million euros. For this 2023, the group hopes to surpass the barrier of 250 million euros thanks to the combination of organic growth and the contribution of recent acquisitions.

Briolf Group has its headquarters in Riudellots de la Selva, next to the Roberlo facilities. Currently, Briolf operates in more than 120 countries and has companies and subsidiaries spread across different parts of the world like England, Italy or Brazil.
The group started a strategic plan last year with the aim of expanding. The holding company expects that one of the consequences of this plan will be to double turnover in the coming years, surpassing 300 million in 2026. In addition, Briolf hopes to open a plant in the United States in the next three or four years. “The United States is the second most important market for the group and we have already bought the land”, detailed Jaume Juher, president of Briolf, last December.
