British police announced that they had arrested a masked gunman who opened fire on a car on a crowded London street in May last year.

According to the police, the gunman was named Ricardo Anderson (21 years old). He pulled a firearm from his waistband, then opened fire violently at a car in Park Lane, Tottenham, confirming that the incident was part of a “dispute between rival gangs in the area.”

Anderson was convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life, and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.

Detective Constable Ryan John said: “This incident occurred on a busy street, on a warm summer evening when people were outside and shops were open. Terrified onlookers, including children, took shelter in shops and rushed to seek safety behind parked cars.”

Surveillance cameras captured the moment a blue Volkswagen Golf was driving on the road, before it stopped in the middle of Street K, and Anderson was seen in front of the camera pulling a gun from his waistband and shooting “violently” towards the car.

Metropolitan Police said one of the passengers in the car was carrying a gun and tried to return fire, but the weapon malfunctioned.

During the investigation, police discovered that a group had gathered in the area earlier to film a music video and that one of the members was wearing a distinctive blue tracksuit from North Faceblack sneakers, and a mask.

Surveillance camera footage allowed police to identify the person as Anderson, and confirm that he had fired at the car. Anderson was arrested on May 31 of last year, and charges were brought against him on June 1.
