Britain has deployed additional fighter jets to the Middle East in connection with Iran’s attack on Israel and is ready to intercept launched missiles and drones.
As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, this is stated in a statement by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense.
“We have deployed more Royal Air Force aircraft and refueling aircraft to the region as part of Operation Shader, which the UK is conducting to fight the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria. In addition, if necessary, these British aircraft will intercept any air attacks within reach of our missions,” the ministry said.
It is noted that London took these steps “in response to increased threats from Iran and against the backdrop of the risk of escalation in the Middle East.” “The UK Government is working with partners in the region to help reduce tensions and prevent further attacks,” the statement said.
