LONDON: Experts share concerns that things could get out of hand in the UK where the Omicron community has begun to expand. Omikron is expected to cause 25,000 to 75,000 deaths in England next April. The warning was issued by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). LSHTM is part of the government’s Scientific Advisory Council.

There were 58,194 Kovid 19 cases detected in the UK yesterday, of which 633 were Omikron cases. The number of Omicron cases is increasing day by day in the country. The Omicron variety is expected to spread across the country by early next year. The number of people admitted to hospitals daily will rise to 2,400 in January. Experts warn that the government should start preparations to deal with this. If the government does not impose any restrictions, about three and a half lakh people will die.

The British government has said it will make it mandatory for cinemas and museums to wear masks and take two doses of the vaccine to combat the new variant.
