British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said today that Britain’s position on arms sales to Israel remains unchanged, Reuters reported.

“The latest review of the matter suggests that our position on the export permit has not changed. It is consistent with the advice that I and other ministers have received,” Cameron said at a news conference with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken in Washington.

“And as always, we will continue to review our position,” he said.

Last week, more than 600 British lawyers called on the government to stop selling arms to Israel. They stated that, in this way, Britain would contribute to committing genocide in Gaza, BTA reported.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at the news conference that the US does not have a date for a potential Israeli military offensive in Rafah, the last place where displaced Palestinians can find refuge. He added that he expects to meet with Israeli counterparts again next week to discuss the situation in Gaza.

Blinken also said the United States is working closely with Qatar and Egypt to broker a Gaza ceasefire. He added that 400 trucks were allowed to enter Gaza today, the highest number of trucks allowed in since October 7, when the conflict began.
