The band ‘Oasis’, known as the legend of British Britpop, visits Korea for the first time in 16 years.

According to British music magazine NME on the 26th (local time), Oasis will embark on a world tour to 13 cities around the world after completing performances in the UK and Ireland in July and August next year.

Performance areas include Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, Boston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, Sydney, Sao Paulo, Santiago, and Buenos Aires. In Asia, they only perform in Korea and Japan.

Oasis, formed in 1991, has produced numerous hit songs such as ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, ‘Stand by Me’, and ‘Live Forever’. It gained worldwide popularity. However, the group disbanded in 2009 due to a feud between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

Oasis held its first concert in Korea at the Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park in 2006, and then visited Korea again in 2009 to hold a concert. Oasis participated in the Jain Valley Rock Festival held at Jisan Resort in Gyeonggi Province in the same year, but the team disbanded after a conflict arose.
