British Foreign Minister David Cameron at the upcoming meeting of NATO foreign ministers on Wednesday will call for joint efforts to produce and purchase weapons and ammunition for Kyiv, the minister’s office said, Day.Az reports with reference to Interfax.

“Cameron will emphasize the need for continued support for Ukraine, which is closer than ever to NATO. He will encourage NATO allies to join UK initiatives to purchase NATO-standard missiles and ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the statement said.

Cameron will note that “all allies agree that Ukraine will join NATO and the UK will continue to work to ensure that it continues to take meaningful steps towards membership.”

According to the office, the minister will inform the meeting that the UK is deepening its partnerships with countries in the Indo-Pacific region, including Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea, as well as its long-standing relationship with the EU. The foreign ministers of these countries will take part in the meeting, which will be held on April 3-4 in Brussels.
