The Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” is a safe and effective drug against coronavirus, however, questions remain about the occurrence of side effects after using this vaccine. This is stated in an article published in the British scientific journal Nature.

“Data from Russia and many other countries now indicate that it is safe and effective, but questions remain about the quality of surveillance for possible rare side effects,” the publication says.

According to the author of the article, many fears were dispelled after the publication of the Russian vaccine in another, no less authoritative scientific publication – the British magazine The Lancet, published in February this year. It stated that “Sputnik V” is 91.6% effective in preventing coronavirus infection and 100% helps to avoid a severe course of the disease.

The Russian Ministry of Health registered Sputnik V in August 2020. This vaccine became the world’s first coronavirus drug. It has been officially approved by nearly 70 countries around the world. Apart from Sputnik V, three other drugs are currently used in Russia: EpiVacCorona, KoviVak and Sputnik Light.
