Britney Spears keeps dancing. After it was announced on Thursday that her third husband Sam Asghari had filed for divorce, the pop singer commented on Instagram on Saturday. “Six years is a long time together,” wrote the 41-year-old for a typical video in which she turns around happily.
She was shocked by the separation, she continued. “But to be honest, I couldn’t take the pain any longer.” Nevertheless, the singer made it clear: “I won’t explain how it happened, because that’s nobody’s business.” Outwardly, however, she has maintained a perfect world for too long . “I would like to show my feelings and tears, but I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses.” However, she is doing her best to stay strong and is fine, the singer assured. She also thanked friends for messages.

Spears and Asghari met in 2016 while filming a music video and tied the knot in June 2022 in front of around 60 guests, including singer Madonna, actress Drew Barrymore, reality star Paris Hilton and fashion designer Donatella Versace. What made headlines was that Spear’s first husband, Jason Alexander, had previously attempted to disrupt the wedding preparations. Spears married her childhood friend Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004, but the marriage was annulled after just 55 hours. Spears was then married to Kevin Federline for three years, with whom she also has two sons.
The singer, who celebrated her breakthrough at a young age in 1999 with “…Hit Me Baby One More Time”, is one of the most successful pop stars with more than 100 million records sold. In 2007, she made headlines with several public breakdowns, until she was finally placed under her father’s guardianship in 2008 at the request of her parents. During this time she released several albums and held a permanent show in Las Vegas. Spears later complained, among other things, that her father had massively controlled and monitored her during the guardianship.
