Britney Spears Sam Asghari Opens Up About Divorce

Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari are getting divorced, the 29-year-old has filed for divorce.

Britney Spears’ husband has filed for divorce. Now Sam Asghari has commented on the separation and asked for consideration.

Now there is an official statement on the divorce from Britney Spears (41): Sam Asghari (29) has commented on the separation from his wife via social media. On Instagram he posted in his story “After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.”

“I ask everyone to be kind and considerate”

Moving on, Asghari has nothing but positive words for Spears: “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for one another and I always wish her the best. Shit happens.” In the last part of the statement, he also explicitly addresses the fans and the media: “To ask for privacy seems ridiculous to me, so I just ask everyone, including the media, to be friendly and considerate.”

As reported by several media outlets, Asghari filed for divorce on Wednesday (August 16). According to “People”, it should be the reason for the separation in the available court documents “irreconcilable differences” must be specified.

The US portal “TMZ” reported also that it learned from insider sources close to the couple that Spears is said to have repeatedly physically attacked her estranged husband over the years of their relationship.

Spears and Asghari met while filming the video

Spears and Asghari began dating in 2016 after meeting on the set of the “Slumber Party” music video. He proposed in September 2021, and their fairytale wedding took place on June 9, 2022 on the grounds of Spears’ mansion in Thousand Oaks, California. There were also celebrities like Madonna (65) or Paris Hilton (42).

It is the third marriage for the singer: in 2004 she was married to her childhood friend Jason Alexander (41) for 55 hours and from 2004 to 2007 to Kevin Federline (45), with whom she had her sons Sean Preston (17) and Jayden James (16) has.
