Britney Spears Sells Music Catalog | Justin Bieber Followed?

Britney Spears has reportedly sold the rights to her music catalog in a deal valued in the same ballpark as Justin Bieber’s estimated $200 million agreement, marking a significant business move for the pop icon. The deal, described by insiders as substantial, secures the legacy of the songs that propelled Spears to global stardom through future licensing opportunities.

Spears’ Catalog Sale Mirrors Bieber’s $200 Million Deal

TMZ exclusively reported that Britney Spears transferred ownership of her music catalog to Primary Wave on December 30 in a “landmark deal.” While the precise financial terms weren’t disclosed, the value is said to be comparable to the reported $200 million Justin Bieber received for his catalog.

A source shared with TMZ that Spears is pleased with the decision and has been enjoying time with her sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline. The sale encompasses a wealth of hits that defined late ‘90s and 2000s pop music, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” “Gimme More,” “Circus,” “Stronger,” “Lucky,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” and “Piece of Me.”

Neither Spears nor Primary Wave has issued a public statement regarding the transaction. However, Spears joins a growing number of artists who have opted to sell their catalogs in recent years, including Bieber and Stevie Nicks, who previously sold an 80% stake in her publishing catalog to Primary Wave.

Spears has indicated she is stepping back from active studio work and live performances. Her last full album, “Glory,” was released in 2016, and she has expressed in recent statements that she doesn’t anticipate a return to music in the way her fans might expect.
