With global warming and a shrinking budget, more and more people are choosing the sea for their winter holidays rather than the mountains. In Brittany, tourists do not regret their choice.

Blue sky, beautiful sea, peaceful beach… On Thursday February 16, all the planets seem to be aligned in Finistère to offer a dream vacation. An Alsatian family discovering Brittany did not expect such weather. “We left Alsace, it was -7°C and we find ourselves at 14°C so it’s good, it’s magnificent”, enthuses the father of the family. The season hasn’t started yet, but facing the walled city of Concarneau (Finistère), a few lucky people are enjoying a quiet sunbath on a café terrace.

“It’s so good here grandma!”

While some indulge in idleness, others feel like growing wings on the beach. “They run on the sand and they say ‘oh it’s so good here grandma'”says a grandmother with her two grandchildren. “It does us good and from time to time we will take a little dip and that’s even better”, adds a couple of vacationers. So as not to make vacationers too addicted to the region, the weather forecast is calling for a little rain on February 16, before the sun returns.
