Brock Purdy Leads 49ers to Victory Over Buccaneers

SANTA CLARA — In a rematch from his NFL debut last season, Brock Purdy once again led the San Francisco 49ers to a triumph over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a final score of 27-14 at Levi’s Stadium.

Despite an impressive performance, completing 21 of 25 attempts for 333 yards, three touchdowns, and a perfect passer rating, Purdy remains focused on further improvement.

“There are still some plays that I wish I had back,” Purdy stated. “Not completely content with that, but it was a great game with the guys around me, the coaching and the play-calling. All of it.”

Purdy’s efficiency was evident in his connection with wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, completing five of his six attempts for 156 yards and a career-long 76-yard touchdown play. Aiyuk expressed that he has always felt the same energy from Purdy as in his NFL debut last year.

Christian McCaffrey also played a significant role, with 21 carries for 78 yards and catching all five of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown. McCaffrey emphasized Purdy’s poise and competitiveness, stating: “He’s always been the same guy. A competitor, a great leader, and a heck of a ball player.”

The 49ers face a challenging three-game stretch, beginning with a Thanksgiving matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. However, for now, Purdy will savor this well-deserved victory.
