New Delhi: Left leader EP Jayarajan broke his two-year-old vow to pay tribute to Sitaram Yechury. He reached Delhi on Thursday by Indigo flight from Karipur Airport (Kerala). Here he paid tribute to his leader Sitaram Yechury. CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury died on Thursday. Jayarajan had vowed in a case two years ago that he would never travel by Indigo flight in his life. Even if he had to walk. Why did you take the oath?

The incident is from July 2022. In a case of scuffle, IndiGo had banned Jayarajan from travelling in its planes for three weeks. At the time when this scuffle took place, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also in the same plane. Angry with this decision of IndiGo, Jayarajan had vowed that he and his family would never travel in IndiGo flights again.

IndiGo confirmed the trip

On Thursday, Jayarajan wanted to reach Delhi as soon as possible to pay tribute to Sitaram Yechury. At that time he had no other option except Indigo flight. So he reached Delhi by traveling on Indigo flight. Indigo has also confirmed this. Indigo said that Jayarajan chose to reach Delhi by Indigo flight to pay tribute to Sitaram Yechury. Indigo said that he wanted to reach Delhi as soon as possible.

‘Yechury is bigger than everything’

Jayarajan said Yechury was bigger than everything. He said reaching Delhi as early as possible to pay tribute to him was more important than what he had said about the airline two years ago.

What is the whole matter?

Jayarajan and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took an Indigo flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram on 13 June 2022. When the flight landed at Thiruvananthapuram airport, two Youth Congress workers inside the flight raised slogans against the Chief Minister. Jayarajan, who was on board the plane, allegedly pushed both the protesters. After this, the airline banned Jayarajan for three weeks. Apart from this, a ban of two weeks was also imposed on both the Congress workers. After this, Jayarajan vowed not to travel by Indigo plane.
