Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Postpone September Performances Due to Medical Reasons

by time news

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have announced the postponement of all performances scheduled for September due to frontman Bruce Springsteen’s ongoing medical treatment. The band was set to kick off their September shows with a performance at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, but this show, along with all the others, has been postponed.

A tweet posted on Wednesday shared the news, stating that Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease and that the decision to postpone the shows was made by his medical advisors. The Boss himself expressed his disappointment in having to reschedule the concerts, particularly apologizing to fans in Philadelphia, where the band missed a show a few weeks ago. He assured fans that they would make up for the missed shows and thanked them for their understanding and support.

The announcement was made on Twitter, with a link to a post containing more details. In the post, Springsteen explained that he and the band are devastated to have to postpone the shows but remain hopeful for their return. They were scheduled to perform in various cities across North America, including Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, and Toronto. However, it is unclear whether the December performances in Inglewood and San Francisco will also be affected.

This tour marks the band’s return to the road after a six-year hiatus, which is their longest break since reuniting in 1999. However, the tour has faced several setbacks, including band members testing positive for Covid-19, causing them to miss shows in Texas. In March, more shows were postponed due to illness, although the specific members affected were not disclosed. Guitarist Steven Van Zandt assured fans that the situation was temporary and that they would be back in full force soon.

Despite the challenges, Springsteen ended his message to fans on a positive note, expressing his excitement for the upcoming shows and promising to be back soon. Fans will have to wait for further updates regarding the rescheduling of the postponed September performances.
