(ANSA-AFP) – NEW YORK, JULY 19 – The Boss is officially a billionaire according to Forbes rankings, which values Bruce Springsteen, conservatively, at $1.1 billion. Much of his wealth has been consolidated in recent years, thanks in large part to a blockbuster sale of his music catalog to Sony in 2021 for an estimated half a billion dollars. The deal followed his huge success in a Broadway show. Now, Springsteen is on a global tour that will last until 2025. According to industry tracker Pollstar, Springsteen sold more than 1.6 million concert tickets in 2023, grossing $380 million. And the 74-year-old “Dancing in the Dark” singer shows no signs of slowing down. For decades, the “Jungleland” singer-songwriter has written music that casts a sentimental lens on the disadvantaged and working class, and has sold 140 million albums worldwide, placing him among the best-selling musicians of all time. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with 20 Grammys and an Oscar to his name, Springsteen will also be the subject of an upcoming biopic, with Jeremy Allen White of “The Bear” fame set to play his role. His marathon shows are the stuff of legend, with a record-breaking run of more than four hours, a performance he pulled off in Helsinki in 2012.
