Bruce Springsteen Postpones Philadelphia Concerts Due to Illness

Bruce Springsteen fans in Philadelphia will have to wait a bit longer to see “The Boss” perform live at Citizens Bank Park. The iconic musician took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday to announce the postponement of his upcoming concerts scheduled for August 16 and 18.

In his tweet, Springsteen revealed that he has fallen ill, causing the cancellation of his highly anticipated shows. “Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed,” he wrote.

Fans who have already purchased tickets are urged to hold onto them for the rescheduled dates. Springsteen assured that the tickets will remain valid for the new shows once they are announced. Further details regarding the rescheduled dates will follow in due course.

This setback comes after the announcement earlier this year of a string of new tour stops for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, including the two Philadelphia concerts. The shows were highly anticipated by fans in the area, and the news of their postponement has undoubtedly disappointed many.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Springsteen has graced Philadelphia with his presence in 2023. The musician had previously performed at the neighboring Wells Fargo Center in March, following the cancellation of some shows in other cities due to illness. However, this time it is Philadelphia that bears the brunt of Springsteen’s health issues.

Fans are eagerly waiting for further updates on the rescheduled dates and hoping for a speedy recovery for their beloved musician.
