Brugada announces dates for the Book Fair in the Zócalo

With the aim of turning the capital into a reading city and that books are part of everyday life, Clara Brugada led the presentation of the XXIV edition of the Zócalo International Book Fair 2024which will have more than 300 stands and various activities cultural.

The head of Government invited the residents of the capital to attend the cultural event, which can be visited until September 20 at the Constitution Square.

“It is not only an event to promote reading (…) it is a cultural meeting, a debate meeting, a reflection meeting, a meeting with books,” said the capital’s president while celebrating that this year she is in charge of theBrigade to Read in Freedom.

The former mayor of Iztapalapa He stressed that a priority objective is to make books part of the daily lives of the capital’s residents and thus democratize reading so that public spaces also become places for reading.

“We want this city to be a free, libertarian, reading, critical city that debates, reflects, and that is caused by reading,” he said.

This edition will have 330 stands from commercial and independent publishers, as well as 327 national and 80 international guests.

The organizers of the event pointed out that to encourage reading among the population, will deliver different titles throughout the Fair, each one during the presentation of the copy.
