Brugada promises to transform the Central de Abasto into a pole of sustainable development

The candidate of the Let’s Keep Making History coalition, Clara Brugadareaffirmed its commitment to continue the transformation of the Wholesale Market of Mexico City in an epicenter of economic and sustainable development.

During a meeting with various actors in this important market, Brugada highlighted the importance of improving the infrastructure of the Central to benefit the thousands of workers and visitors who come daily.

Brugada Molina announced the creation of the Utopia of the Central de Abastoa comprehensive project that will offer care, recreation and attention to social problems services within this commercial space.

This initiative, which will include a Public Care System, seeks to improve the quality of life of those who work and visit the Center.

One of Brugada’s priorities is to guarantee access to health services for all market workers.

In this sense, he announced that forklift drivers and independent workers will be enrolled in the IMSS Bienestar, thus ensuring their social protection and access to medical care.

In addition, the candidate committed to combating intermediaries and directly supporting producers and merchants, facilitating the marketing of their products at fairs and specialized events.

Regarding security, Clara Brugada proposed increasing the number of security elements within the Central de Abasto and building two multimodal terminals to improve the logistics and transportation service.

Another of the axes of its project is to promote the circular economy at the Central, with the aim of reducing waste to a minimum and generating renewable energy.

To do this, it plans to implement rainwater harvesting systems, biodigesters to take advantage of organic matter and expand the capacity of the biodiesel production plant.

The candidate also committed to strengthen the Center for Studies of the Agri-Food Center Chainexpand parking for private vehicles and facilitate the export and import of merchandise through the installation of a tax facility in coordination with the federal government.

During the meeting, Brugada recognized the investment made by Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration in the Central de Abasto and highlighted the importance of continuing with this type of projects to promote the economic and social development of Mexico City.
