BSEC-DBA meeting on capital market on Monday

The regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will hold a meeting with DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA), an organization of brokerage houses concerned with the current overall situation and development of the capital market.

The meeting between the two parties will be held on Monday (14 October) at 10:30 am in the capital’s Agargaon Securities Commission building.

Chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud on behalf of BSEC in the meeting, Commissioner Mu. Mohsin Chowdhury, Md. Ali Akbar, Farzana Lalarukh and senior officers of the concerned departments will be present. Meanwhile, the board members of the organization headed by DBA president Saiful Islam are expected to attend the meeting.

In the letter sent by BSEC regarding the meeting, it is mentioned that with the aim of the overall development of the capital market, an exchange meeting will be held with the relevant stakeholders DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) under the chairmanship of the Commission Chairman Khandaker Rashed Maksud at the Multipurpose Hall of the Securities Commission Building at 10:30 am on Monday.

On Sunday (October 13), the matter was discussed by the secretary of DBA. Didarul Gani confirms RisingBD.

He said that the overall situation of the capital market will be discussed in the meeting. Especially after the change in the political pot, the reasons why the capital market could not turn around will be discussed. Besides, the weak areas for which there was market manipulation and crisis of confidence will be discussed. Besides, the various obstacles to the capital market movement will be discussed.

He also said that increasing confidence in the capital market, increasing the activity of brokerage houses, reforming various laws and regulations of the capital market, withdrawing unfair fees and measures of brokerage houses, bringing back invested money will be discussed with the BSEC.
