The appointment of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan as the goodwill ambassador of the capital market regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for the ‘Nationwide Investment Education Program’ has been cancelled.

This decision was taken in the 916th commission meeting held on Wednesday (February 14) under the chairmanship of BSEC chairman Khandkar Rashed Maqsood. BSEC Director and Spokesperson Farhana Farooqi has informed this information in the press release.

According to the press release, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has decided to cancel the appointment of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan as the goodwill ambassador of the ‘Countrywide Investment Education Program’.

On October 2, 2017 at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium, the then Chairman of BSEC Dr. M Khairul Hossain announced the appointment of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan as the goodwill ambassador of the ‘Nationwide Investment Education Program’. After almost 7 years, the decision to appoint Shakib Al Hasan as a goodwill ambassador was canceled by the new commission headed by Khandkar Rashed Maqsood.
