New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a review meeting with IB and other security agencies on Friday to control terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir at any cost. After the security review meeting, BSF DG Nitin Agarwal reached Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit. After reaching here, he assessed the security situation on the border. BSF said that BSF DG Agarwal reached Jammu on 20 July on his two-day visit. During this, a joint security review was done with Special DG of BSF Western Command YB Khurania, Jammu IG DK Bora, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and all other security agencies.

During this, BSF IG DK Bora informed him about the important aspects of border security and the strategies of BSF to maintain dominance on the Jammu border. Many important issues were discussed seriously in this joint review. In the review, it was said to ensure that no infiltration takes place from the Pakistan border towards India under any circumstances. The India-Pakistan border will have to be strictly monitored 24 hours a day so that no terrorist or other anarchist element can enter India and spread unrest here.

Army is also alert

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday assured Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that the armed forces and security agencies will conduct “synergistic operations” to deal with rising terror activities and maintain peace and stability in Jammu. The assurance was given by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi at a high-level joint security review meeting here on Saturday, amid concerns over rising terror incidents and cross-border infiltration.
