BSNL has completed preparations for launching 4G service. BSNL is launching a new SIM for 4G and 5G users, which is known as USIM. The question arises that what is U-SIM and what are its benefits? This is the reason why the company is making itself advanced at the level of technology, for which BSNL is launching USIM cards for 4G and 5G users.
What is USIM?
USIM is called Universal Subscribers Identity Module. This SIM card has a small chip, which makes it different from a normal SIM card. User information is stored in this SIM card. Also, it looks exactly like any other SIM card. But USIM card is considered more secure. Authentication and validation of this SIM is easy. This U-SIM is being introduced by BSNL for 4G and 5G users. Its biggest advantage is that if you buy a BSNL 4G SIM card, then you will not have to get a new SIM card for BSNL’s 5G service. Meaning this SIM card will be compatible with both 4G and 5G networks.
BSNL’s new service launched
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has developed this platform in collaboration with domestic telecom development firm Pyro Holdings. This BSNL 4G and 5G Ready OTA platform will be a new facility for BSNL users of India. BSNL has launched a new 4G and 5G-ready over-the-air (OTA) and universal SIM (USIM) platform. It is believed that this will improve BSNL’s service. Also, connectivity will be better than before. BSNL inaugurated this platform in Chandigarh and built a disaster recovery site in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
When will the 4G service start
If the report is to be believed, 4G service can be rolled out by March 2025. Also, 4G service can be started across the country in the next 6 to 8 months. Its target has been set as March 2025. While BSNL 5G service can be rolled out by the end of the year 2025. It is believed that with the help of cheap data and calling of BSNL, the digital gap in rural India can be eliminated. This will be a step towards PM Modi’s self-reliant India.
Tower installation work has started rapidly
BSNL has installed 15,000 network towers in circles like Himachal Pradesh and UP West. The company can increase the number of mobile towers to 80,000 by October this year. The company is installing new mobile towers for 4G service across the country. Their number has increased to more than 9,000. Out of these, the maximum number of mobile towers, 6,000, have been installed in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

4G service will start from October 15
The announcement of the launch of BSNL’s 4G service can be made on October 15. Its official announcement can be made on this day. BSNL has set up about 25,000 sites so far. The help of companies like TCS and Tejas is being taken in this work. BSNL’s network will be completely indigenous. Also, the company has started distributing 4G SIMs. The good thing is that there will be no need to change the SIM to upgrade the company’s 4G SIM card to 5G.
