Government telecom company BSNL is updating itself rapidly to compete with Airtel and Jio. This is the reason why BSNL has announced the launch of a new e-SIM service. Also, the deadline for 4G service rollout has been set. In such a situation, the facility of e-SIM will be available to the customer in the next 3 months. BSNL has confirmed by posting on social media platform X on December 20 that the company will launch eSIM by March 2025.
iPhone and Google Pixel users will benefit
In such a situation, Apple iPhone and Google Pixel phone users are going to enjoy, because single physical SIM is provided in both these smartphones. Also an e-SIM slot is provided. At present, e-SIM service is offered by Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. Let us tell you that the e-SIM market in India is quite small. Also, we do not get the facility of e-SIM in smartphones. However, e-SIM facility is being provided in expensive smartphones.
What is e-sim?
E-SIM is a digital SIM card which does not have to be inserted in the slot like a physical SIM card. It is stored directly in your phone’s software.
BSNL 4G service deadline fixed
BSNL has confirmed that 4G service will be rolled out across the country by June 2025. Also, VoLTE and VoWiFi service can be launched by the company in a phased manner. Sandeep Govil, Director, Consumer Mobility, BSNL Board has confirmed that no increase in tariff has been announced by it. In such a situation, those users can get relief who are facing expensive recharge plans of private companies.
BSNL’s network quality will improve
22 thousand 4G mobile networks are to be rolled out by BSNL. A total of 1,00,000 towers are to be installed by the company. Recently a new service has been announced by BSNL. It has global satellite phone service, which will be launched exclusively in India. Also, it will be the first service provider in the country to offer direct to Divvy satellite service.
