Why was the agreement held?
The government has put this agreement on hold. Because the tax implications are being examined by the government. The government wants to ensure how expensive this deal is going to be for the two. The government is already bearing the sovereign bond dues and now it does not want to bear the higher cost of the company. The government wants that both the companies should not put too much burden on it.
Status of MTNL-
Talking about the condition of MTNL, it is very bad. Right now the company has a debt of 31,994.51 crores. BSNL has taken the responsibility of all the operations of MTNL. The objective of BSNL will be to make MTNL return to the market as soon as possible. At least the market expenses of MTNL can be recovered, which is currently in a very bad condition. BSNL is already strengthening its network in cities like Delhi and Mumbai. 4G and 5G have been included in this. These regions are currently being served by MTNL.
BSNL 5G-
If we talk about BSNL, its 5G trial has started. The first call has also been made from this network.
