“The BSP has gone through a very difficult period in the last few months. BSP is a party not only with traditions, but also with a future. Many young people are still fighting for her causes. BSP is not finished. She is here and managed to survive enormous upheavals inside herself”. This was stated by Mina Kuteva – Deputy Chairman of the Youth Union in the BSP.

She emphasized that the future of the left now looks much better: “We are united, there are no lawsuits and internal party disputes, and we can move forward calmly. Our most important battle from now on is to regain the trust of the Bulgarian citizens”.

Kuteva explained that in the 23rd MIR, four young people were nominated for the first six places in the list. According to her, this shows that the left is going through a renewal that it has needed for a long time.

She commented that together with the youth associations of the left parties of “BSP – UNITED LEFT” they prepared a youth platform that addresses the problems of young people – higher education, realization, civil sector, first home, starting a family, unlimited number of in vitro procedures for young people with reproductive issues, financial aid for children and many more policies.

When asked about the Law on the Promotion of Volunteering, Kuteva emphasized that it has been a topic of conversation for over 10 years. She stated that Bulgaria is the only country in the EU that does not have such a law, and the civil sector needs it. The Deputy Chairman of the MoD in the BSP was categorical that a great deal of will is needed for the law to be adopted.

Mina Kuteva commented that not every type of volunteering is regulated – on the one hand, it is about people who volunteer in distressed regions, so that they know what their rights are, what activities they can do and who protects them during this time, and on the other hand, the people who volunteer in one cause or another. “There is no single law that regulates all this and gives volunteers the opportunity to prove experience and develop professionally in one or another sector. The bill we have prepared is wide-ranging and answers many questions. I have no explanation why it was once again ignored,” Mina Kuteva concluded on the air of Eurocom.
