Prolonging the work of the National Assembly is unconstitutional, Ivan Ivanov stated and demanded specific talks on the formation of a government
Corrections in the already proposed declaration, with which the PP-DB wants to guarantee a parliamentary drive and a majority for 7 laws and the condition that it be the basis for the negotiations on the formation of a government – these are the conditions that the BSP set against possible support.
The deputy head of the parliamentary group of socialists Ivan Ivanov, MP Maya Dimitrova, former MP Filip Popov and deputy head of the internal party “judicial” commission of the BSP Gergana Alexova attended the conversation in the parliament.
“The good thing about the meeting is that we understood that the declaration can be changed. If the PP-DB decide to continue these talks, we will give our proposals, but with one condition – that it be the basis for talks about a government with a second or third term.” , Ivanov also emphasized. According to him, there is a danger of working with floating majorities and the opening of important laws, because “it can lead to a dangerous version of their adoption”.
Ivanov defined the conversation with DB as constructive, but emphasized:
“In this version of the declaration, and with the condition for a 2-month extension of the National Assembly’s work, it cannot be supported by us. The society’s agenda does not end only with the fight against corruption. We support it, this is what we have done over the years , a large part of the texts BSP have proposed as options for changes in the law,” said Ivanov, approving the initiative.
“Extending the work of the National Assembly is unconstitutional, and we are in the process of handing over mandates. There must be a clear request from the PP-DB whether they will proceed with the formation of a government,” insisted the deputy chairman of the PG of the BSP.
